Part of Queen Margaret Road/Doune Quadrant has been shut to all vehicular traffic, and now Heras fencing has been put across the full width of the carriageway, preventing its use for cycling. The footway remains open and some cyclists are using that, although there is a lack of dropped kerbs to get onto it at this end.

However, the solution is not cycling on the narrow footway, but allowing it on the road. Whatever the problem is, the road is not so dangerous that it has been closed to people walking. This is a popular unadvertised cycling route through North Kelvinside and onwards towards the city centre.
