[Image taken 28.9.22] Raylor Centre, James Street, York. [NOTE: No street view at this location] The Raylor Centre (www.raylorcentre.co.uk/) houses lots of very varied businesses. A few years ago I had a go at getting the cycle parking at the front of the building improved ahead of an event I was co-organising. The owners told me they had no plans to change the provision. It still looks as it was then (see: #186448). But it looks as if someone else persevered because there is now this provision. Positives: it exists, it is covered, it’s Sheffield stands; those uprights are free-standing ie not part of a toastrack; it’s near an entrance/exit albeit the rear one - #186444; the surround being translucent means if the lights on the wall are illuminated when the building is in use, they will light up the cycle parking too; plus, it likely makes it safer for the cycles and the people who ride them: you can see and be seen. Other images this provision: #186445, #186446, #186447. Provision on the same site: #186449. Trailer cycle and space requirements at Lidl: #186450, #186451, #186452.
